As an extension of the highly respected printed version of THE OBSERVER Newspapers, Lee and The Observer Media Group launched SacObserver.com in 2001, where visitors and advertisers are afforded a quality online experience presented with bold, creative strategies.

Lee — who has a lifelong career in ethnic media and marketing — inherited an admirable sense of quality, community, commendable work ethic, and dedication to excellence from his parents, Dr. William H. Lee and Kathryn C. Lee, the owners and publishers of THE OBSERVER Newspapers.

The exciting Web portal is a reflection of Lee's vision to build corporate relationships while presenting information services to underserved communities. In a short period of time, Lee has successfully enhanced corporate relationships with companies such as: Wells Fargo, Intel, SBC/Pacific Bell, Hewlett-Packard, The Sacramento Kings/Monarchs, Raley's and many more; developing strong ties with such companies and the African American community.

Lee, 32, has also served on many boards, including the following: the African American Tobacco Education Network, the Sacramento Regional Foundation Communications Committee, the SMUD Community Outreach Committee and the Christian Brothers Alumni Association board. He is currently a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Sacramento board, and serves as a member of the National Newspapers Publishers Association Marketing Committee.

A graduate of the San Jose State University School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Lee's journalism achievements have been noted by the American Society of Newspaper Editors, the West Coast Black Publishers Association, and the University of Missouri’s College of Journalism.

Lawrence C. Lee is married to Monet Lee; they have a daughter, Maya.
