SACOBSERVER.COM WIRE SERVICES WASHINGTON (NNPA) -
Recent polls indicate that Latino voters are turning to presumptive
Democratic nominee Barack Obama instead of his Republican
rival John McCain.
A Gallup poll released recently shows 62 percent of registered
Latino voters nationwide favoring Obama while only 29 percent
backing McCain. Also, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus recently
threw its support behind Obama.
Both Obama and McCain recently spoke to a gathering of Latino
leaders in the nation's capital. Obama is not taking Hispanic
support for granted. He has appointed two veteran political
operatives to begin work building up his support among Hispanics.
