(NNPA) - Golf star Tiger Woods has allegedly offered his wife an immediate payout and a large increase in their prenuptial agreement if she stays with him amid reports of his infidelity.

According to Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker, a lawyer familiar with Woods’ situation said Elin Nordegren has already been offered a $5 million payment if she agrees to remain by the golfer’s side.

The lawyer also allegedly told Zwecker that the couple’s prenuptial agreement is being revised to give her an additional $55 million. Woods and Nordegren’s original 2004 prenup was reportedly worth $20 million after 10 years of marriage, according to the lawyer.

“But in light of a string of women coming forward to say they had affairs with Tiger since his marriage, Elin has demanded that the prenup be rewritten,” Zwecker wrote.

“The links legend’s spouse is reportedly being paid a hefty seven-figure amount — immediately transferred [sic] into an account she alone controls — to stick with her husband.

Zwecker said the amount of the 2004 prenuptial agreement’s payout would be greatly increased, and the length of time the couple would have to stay together would be shortened.

Woods has been the target of public scrutiny since he crashed his Cadillac SUV near his home in the early morning hours of Nov. 27. Media reports quickly centered on allegations of Woods’ infidelity, and on Dec. 2 he admitted to “transgressions” against his family, but did not go into detail.

This story comes special to NNPA from the Afro-American Newspapers.
